Diagonal by Adriano Attus

Born in Italy in 1971 and working as a creative director for several printed magazines and newspapers, Adriano Attus is also a prolific and wise artist whose works focus on numbers and mathematics at large, exploring combinatory calculus and its possible translation into forms of art.

Part of his “Neometrie” series, made up of mosaic cards created with many different coloured elements, “Diagonal” is a mosaic of blue, azure and orange pieces. It represents one of 81 possible combinations of those pieces. In the words of Adriano, it is the “unique image of the several possible permutations”.

Measuring 50 by 50cm, it is a unique piece created with magnetic plexiglass fragments over a steel base.
