Description

Designed in 1975 by Tobia Scarpa, son of the famous architect Carlo, the Papillona is an icon of italian lighting design. Thin, almost slender, its shape reminds that of a Martini glass or – as the name suggests – a butterfly.

Crafted in extruded aluminium, and painted in black, the Papillona diffuses light through two shades in prismatic glass. The halogen light bulb is dimmerable through the floor switch.

The lamp is in full working order and has been professionally rewired using a black cable and a black switch. The base shows a decoloration, and the underlying aluminium is exposed, but it can be easily restored.

It has a height of 192cm and the base measures 25 by 26 cm. Please contact us to arrange international shipping.
